Account Clean Up and Email Announcement

Spring Account Cleaning!

It’s spring somewhere, isn’t it? I’m sending this mainly for those people who may not often log into their accounts after they’ve set everything up. If that’s you, this email is very important!

These past few weeks we have been focused on upgrading internal systems, cleaning things up, and generally trying to keep things running in tip-top condition.

One of the things we’ve noticed is some dormant user accounts created by some obvious bots, and some that are not so obvious. One of the ways that sites with free accounts can get around this is to validate email addresses. While we’ve had an email validation system going for a while, we’ve not actually enforced it until now.

The T-1000 is not an ideal SeekBeak user.

As of right now, if you didn’t click the email verification link in your signup email, you’ll notice a friendly message on your dashboard asking you to verify it (and resend it if necessary!). This lets us know that you’re a real person, and not a robot, alien, or some other nefarious creature.

So, what does this mean? In a few weeks, the following rule will come into effect:

Accounts that aren’t verified are going to be permanently deleted 1 week from their creation date.

Just to reiterate: the reminder notification is up now, but the rule won’t come into effect until Monday, October 23, 2017.

So, if you’ve not verified your email, log in to https://seekbeak.com and verify it now!

If you’ve got any comments, please let us know by replying to the email, getting a hold of us on social media, or via the comments area on the website.

Cheers,
Tim Allan
